In the state of South Carolina, all motorcycle riders are required to have full coverage. Just like car insurance, they must show proof of insurance coverage if requested by law enforcement to comply.

- Bodily Injury coverage will protect you if you are in an accident and at fault if someone is injured and killed. It also protects any passengers who are involved
- Medical Payment coverage will cover things like dental care, medication payments, deductibles, and medical payments that are not covered through your regular policy, like funeral expenses and home nursing care, which are often factors due to the increased risk of harm in a motorcycle accident
If you own or operate a motorcycle in the State of South Carolina, you are required to have the mandatory minimum requirements as outlined by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
